![]() Jarochos are the residents of Veracruz, Mexico, with Indigenous, Spanish and African music and dance roots. Los Jarochos is one of the Veracruz region’s modern vanguards. This complex folkloric music is created by several unique instruments - a small Veracruz harp; a diminutive eight string guitar called the ‘jarana’; a requinto , or small high pitched four string guitar played with a bone pick and a standard guitar. |
